Pulau Indah, Selangor, October 18, 2022 – Hextar Global Berhad proudly embraced solar power (“Solar PV”) as a symbol of our unwavering commitment to sustainability. The installation was completed in October 2022. We successfully commissioned the Solar PV system in our Pulau Indah factory on 21st Feb 2023, which is poised to deliver energy savings for FYE2023 onwards. This 183kWp design initiative not only reduces our carbon footprint but also strengthens our energy efficiency.
This installation augurs well with UN SDG # 7 which is to ensure affordable and clean energy as it reduces dependence on fossil fuels and lowers greenhouse gas emissions. It will also directly contribute to UN SDG # 13 which is taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Solar PV significantly mitigates climate change by reducing GHG emissions. It aids in achieving emission reduction targets by replacing fossil fuel-based electricity generation with clean and renewable energy.
With these initial successes, we are committed to expanding our solar power infrastructure across other Hextar Group facilities. Future installations will undergo proper evaluation, ensuring alignment with our target to reduce emissions while remaining cost-effective and energy-efficient. We are excited to continue this journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.
